Accel Air Systems Completes DDC Retrofit for Olympus

Santa Clara, CA; August 14, 2013 -- Accel Air Systems is proud to announce the recent completion of an HVAC retrofit project for technology titan, Olympus. The project entailed a system wide upgrade from a conventional pneumatic control system to a direct digital control (DDC) system that utilizes wireless technology to better optimize system control and energy efficiency.

The building, located in San Jose on Ringwood Avenue, was built in 1994 and comprised of 150,000 square feet. Construction on the project, which spanned the course of two months, was completed in the evening hours, to allow the client to conduct “business as usual” during their regular hours of operation.

“By integrating a DDC system throughout the Olympus complex, our client can expect to see a 20%-30% reduction in energy costs within the first year of operation.  From a facilities maintenance perspective, the installation of the new system allows for operators to monitor, control, alarm and diagnose building equipment remotely. It’s a “win-win”, said Senior Project Manager Dan Pierce who spearheaded the project.
